This model blends the aggressive performance of its predecessors with refined low-speed handling and flight versatility, making it one of the best options for both low-time EDF pilots and seasoned jet enthusiasts.
Engineered with swept-back trailing edges and leading-edge extensions, the Habu XS is based on the popular Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm and 70mm models—but scaled up for even greater stability and presence in the air.

Skill Level 3 – Experience Required
Skill Level 3 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for more experienced RC pilots with the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. This PNP version requires more experience and skills to assemble and fly than the BNF Basic version because you will need to install a receiver that does not already include properly tuned AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. It’s not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or first-ever EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) jet model for intermediate to experienced RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly simpler EDF models like the E-flite Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm or 70mm or similar jet models before attempting to fly the Habu XS (eXtra Sport) 80mm EDF.
Smart Technology
The exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart ESC provides a variety of real-time power system-related telemetry data, including overall battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM, and more – with both Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR637TA+) and Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly. Plus, optional-use motor/thrust reversing can help shorten rollout after landing and offers other special ground handling capabilities (7–8+ channel transmitter required for reversing).
eXtra Performance
The 12-blade 80mm fan, Spektrum brushless inrunner motor and Avian 130-amp ESC combine with your 6S 4000–7000mAh 30+C LiPo battery to deliver excellent vertical performance and a fantastic speed range with virtually instantaneous throttle response. But what makes the experience truly rewarding is the sound the power system produces—it’s almost like a real turbine engine.
eXtra Capable Gear
Shock-absorbing, trailing link struts on the nose and main gear soak up the bumps of rough surfaces, including grass, and make flying from a wider variety of fields possible. The reliable electric retracts have durable metal components, and the steerable nose wheel plus wide-spaced main gear offers excellent ground handling.
eXtra Functional Features
The factory-installed flaps offer improved slow-flight capability and performance, making it possible to take off and land in shorter distances and at slower speeds. This makes the Habu XS 80mm a perfect first “full-house” jet model for those moving up from simpler EDF models. No glue is required for assembly, and you can have the Habu XS ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! The one-piece wing with hands-free connections bolts into place and can easily be removed for convenient storage and transport. Plus, the airframe is factory-finished in a premium, fully painted, and high-visibility trim scheme.
Plug-N-Play® Completion Level
The Plug-N-Play (PNP) version comes out of the box with a factory-installed power system and servos that are ready to connect to the compatible receiver of your choice (sold separately) for use with the transmitter and battery you provide (also sold separately). Simply install the receiver, finish any final assembly, and fly!
